Schedule:                 Rd1: 11:45     Rd2: 1:15    Rd3: 2:30    Rd4 :3:45     Rd5 5:00

Style:                           5 round Swiss (4 sections)

Grades 8-9, Grades 6-7, Grades 4-5, Grades K-3

Time Control:             Game/30 minutes (each player)

RATED BY CFC (Chess Federation of Canada)

 

Registration:              Make Cheques payable to “Ontario Chess Association Inc.”

               (Register early as only 300 players are guaranteed admission.)

       EMAIL REGISTRATIONS ACCEPTED until 11pm Thursday, 8 November, 2007. 

  (Identify your date of birth, your age as of 1 January 2007, and your  school and grade )

 

Entry Fee:                  $5 in advance, $10 cash only at the site

Other Information:    Chess Sets and clocks will be provided. Clocks will be used for the top boards, or if games are proceeding slowly.

Prizes:  

The top winners of each age group,  male and female, will become the York Region Chess Champions for 2007. Winners will  receive trophies, and medals will be awarded to all school team players for each age group. Plaques will be given to the schools with the best youth results. The top 4 players from each school will be ranked for total points. Any number of players are allowed per school, however for example if 7 players enter for a school, the final results will add up the points of the highest 4 scoring players from that school.

GTCL invites all chess clubs and organizers submit their bids for the Grand Prix 2007 Holidays tournament!

GTCL Grand Prix 2007 series will include the following 5 tournaments: 

1)  March Open – March 16-18, 5 rounds

2)  Toronto Open – April 6-8, 6 rounds

3)  Canada Day Open – June 30-July 1 & 2 - 5 rounds

4)  Thanksgiving Open – October 6-8, 6 rounds

5)  Holidays Open – December 26-30, 6 rounds - TBA
