2010 Canadian Youth Chess Championship

2010 CYCCRegistration: $175 ($200 after June 15, $225 after July 1).
Time Control: Game 90 minutes plus 30 seconds per move
Schedule: 7 Rounds, Swiss or Round Robin. Sections with less than 8 players may be combined at Tournament Director discretion.
Round times: (subject to revision) 
July 6 - Opening ceremony at 11:50 am, 12 noon and 5 pm rounds 1-2; 
July 7 - 10 am and 3 pm rounds 3-4; 
July 8 - 10 am and 3 pm rounds 5-6; 
July 9 - 10 am round 7. Closing ceremony at around 3:30 pm.

Sections: U18, U16, U14, U12, U10, U8 Open and girls. Sections with less than 8 players may be combined at Tournament Director's discretion.

Section by age: 
Born in 1992,1993 U18. 
Born in 1994,1995 U16. 
Born in 1996,1997 U14. 
Born in 1998,1999 U12 
Born in 2000, 2001 U10. 
Born in 2002 or later U8.

Two sections in each age age group: Girls only, and Open. (Girls may play in the open section if they wish.)

Prizes: Winners of each combined section and each section with 8 or more players receive $1000 toward expenses for their trip to participate in the World Youth Chess Championship in Greece 2010. The WYCC are providing free board (meals and lodging) for winners of the 12 categories.
