2010 Calgary International Chess Classic

Rules & Regulations?FIDE rules will be used.
Time Control?40 moves in 90 minutes, then game in 30 minutes with a 30 second increment for each move from move 1.
Byes?Byes are not allowed. To remain in norm contention, players must play all 9 rounds. If a player must miss a round, a zero point bye will be awarded.
Recording of Moves?All players must keep a legible scoresheet for the duration of the game. 
Norm Information?The following table includes most of the information regarding norm requirements:
Norm

*The regulations regarding mix of federations as in the boxes marked * are waived if the event is a Swiss System tournament in which the competitors include at least 20 FIDE Rated players, not from the host federation, from at least 3 federations, at least 10 of whom hold GM, IM, WGM or WIM titles.

Player Registration:
Registration will be closed as of Monday, May 17 at midnight. There will be no new registrations after that time.
The organizer reserves the rights over all registrations.
Free entry to GM's & IM's.
The registration fee you pay is based on your current FIDE rating.

Norm

Registration is limited to 24 players. The organizer may increase the number of players to enhance norm opportunities. All players must have a FIDE rating. Canadian players must have a minimum CFC rating of 2200 and FIDE 2100. The organizer reserves the right to make certain exceptions. All fees are payable in Canadian dollars. All interested players must contact the organizer to arrange registration. This will include a brief players meeting. Refreshments and light snacks will be available. All players are encouraged to attend.

Round 2: Friday, May 21, 11 am
Round 3: Friday, May 21, 6 pm
Round 4: Saturday, May 22, 11 am
Round 5: Saturday, May 22, 6 pm
Round 6: Sunday, May 23, 11 am
Round 7: Sunday, May 23, 6 pm
Round 8: Monday, May 24, 10 am 
Round 9: Monday, May 24, 5 pm 
Closing Ceremonies: Immediately following round 9

Total estimated prize fund: $5,000
FIDE ratings will be used to determine the U2400 prizes.|
Players may win only one prize (with the exception of the biggest upset) and must take the largest prize they can win.
