Requested Byes: up to 2 half-point byes within the first 3 rounds
such byes must be requested before previous round
byes for Round 1 must be requested when registering
all other requested byes will be counted as zero-point
the TD guarantees no “forced byes”!
Sections & Prizes: all sections rated CFC, and Top section also rated FIDE
all players ranked by highest current FIDE/CFC/FQE rating
minimum prize fund based on 60 players (>60! players at last Ottawa EOCA event)
Top (>=2000) section: 1st = $700, 2nd = $500, 3rd = $400, U2200 = $400
2 to 4 other sections: U2000 = $400, U1800 = $300, U1600 = $200, U1400 = $200

Top section = $95 (Amateur = $45) & other sections = $75 (Amateur = $35)
Amateur players are ineligible for prizes, and cannot play up a section
however, they might be paired to play some round(s) in higher section
+$10 per section up, +$5 for onsite payment, +$20 for onsite registration & payment
